Book art - Natalia Goncharova

Natalia Goncharova (1881–1962) was a Russian avant-garde artist, painter, costume designer, writer, illustrator, and set designer. In 1921, she moved permanently from Russia to Paris, where she designed a number of stage sets for Diaghilev's Ballets Russes and other theatrical productions. The painting below is her stylized, colorful interpretation of the Russian theme. It's called Two Russian Maidens. She painted it in 1920, before she immigrated to France. The painting is currently in private collection.
