Gone West - Carola Dunn A solid mystery. The plot is interesting and well-constructed, the tension hikes the way it should, and the heroine is her charming self. But I think the series is finally winding down. Daisy, so fresh and original in the earlier books, has matured, becoming a nice but ordinary English lady, and it’s not enough to sustain the series further.
Overall, I enjoyed this book. After reading a dozen others about Daisy (I’m a huge fan of the series), it felt like meeting an old friend, cozy and undemanding. But the magic is gone, alas.
